Detailed itinerary of 9 day Tanzania safari experience

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha airport

‘Karibu Tanzania – welcome to Tanzania!’ says your own 4×4 Tanzania safari guide as you exit Kilimanjaro International Airport, beaming broadly. You are taken directly to your accommodation by the guide, where you may unwind and enjoy the African ambience. Your guide takes you on a private, exclusive safari the following day, letting you go at your own speed. Savor the comforts of your personal safari vehicle and feel free to pause and observe the wildlife for as long as you wish!

Accommodation: Ahandi lodge

Day 2: Tarangire national park

Tarangire National Park is well recognized for its massive groups of elephants and the huge amount of giant baobab trees. Since elephants have a unique method for extracting water from these trees, which can survive for hundreds of years, they serve as a source of water for them during the dry season. Additionally, during the dry season, the Tarangire River serves as the only supply of water, which is why herds of up to 250 elephants can be seen in Tarangire alongside a variety of other creatures.

Accommodations: Sangaiwe Tented Lodge

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

Between Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park is situated right along the Great Rift Valley, which is 400 meters deep. The park’s varied habitats attract a wide variety of animal species. For example, you may visit the lake that takes up 75% of the park, drive through a lush rainforest with hundreds of animals and birds, and get up close and personal with elephants in the forests.

Accommodations: Manyara Best View Lodge & Spa

Day 4 – 6: Serengeti National Park (central west/east)

Due in large part to the Great Migration that travels through the Serengeti National Park, it is well recognized as a safari destination. The sheer number of predators that inhabit this area—more than 4,000 lions, 225 cheetahs, 1,000 leopards, 3500 hyenas, and hundreds of wild dogs—is as astonishing as the massive, stampeding herds! Naturally, there are many more stunning creatures that your guide will be happy to look for with you. Are you prepared for this?

Accommodations: Serengeti Sound of Silence Tented Camp

Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area (incl. Crater)

Among Africa’s seven natural wonders is the well-known Ngorongoro Crater. Two million years ago, a massive volcano erupted, creating the crater. There are now more creatures in this special ecosystem than anyplace else in Africa thanks to the fertile lava! Once you enter the crater, you will be surrounded by thousands of animals, including buffalo, zebras, black rhinos, and lions. The sights are so breathtaking that you won’t know where to look.

Accommodations: Manyara Best View Lodge & Spa

Day 8 – 9: you flight from either Kilimanjaro int airport or Arusha

The final day! You can spend a little more time relaxing at the lodge before flying home or Zanzibar from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha airport, depending on when your flight is.
